Getting Started in Kentucky

Withdraw from Current School (if enrolled)
If your child is currently enrolled, submit a written withdrawal letter to formally close enrollment and prevent truancy issues.

Send a letter to your local superintendent with student names, ages, and your intent to homeschool. This is separate from school withdrawal.

Choose Curriculum & Begin
Select your materials, begin instruction, and track attendance hours. You need 1,062 hours per year.
